The Alien Messiah

Exclusive Downloads

Downnloadheader

Bandcamp. If you've heard of it you'll know why we are using it! If you've not heard of it you'll thank us for telling you!

Can you imagine a website where bands can upload full resolution audio files (.aiff) and you can chose what type of format your download is, and there's a minimum of third party overheads reducing the band's income.

Imagine no more because that's what Bandcamp is. By starting with the highest possible quality source, they’re able to convert our tracks into a bunch of different format and quality combinations for you to listen to, including MP3 (320, VBR V0), Ogg Vorbis, Apple Lossless, FLAC and AAC (aka .m4a or iTunes store format)

You can see why we have chosen bandcamp as our supply partner for our downloads.

Having said that In the days of our demo recordings the facilities available to up-coming bands were rather basic compared to this century!

The demo tracks were mostly recorded on a cassette based "portastudio" or in some cases directly off the sound desk at gigs but this also imbues the tracks with a certain 'patina', which given their 30+ years age is quite fitting, so please understand that these are not modern recording studio quality. We're currently leaving the tracks open for streaming so you can hear what you are getting before buying!

Graeme

Graeme MurrayThe Sentinel has presented himself to the world, and for the young people of the planet he has immediately turned into a media sensation.

A huge rally is organised in the shadow of the pyramids outside Cairo The young people of the world travel from all over the globe to attend the rally and to hear the Alien Messiah speak.

The atmosphere is like an awesome global rock concert, mixed with the hysteria of a newfound religion, and the youthful hope for a new tomorrow.

I fantasise about playing a huge outdoor festival, kicking into this track, and seeing thousands of people bounce up and down with their are hands in the air, waiting in anticipation for Paul’s speech!

Okay okay I know I am sad!

Paul

Paul MackieI love loads about this track. I suspect that live I am going to love doing it, that’s where it belongs, its very hard to get across the meaning of the track without being at a Rally of this nature.

Again Niall’s infamous melody painting abilities does it for me. The speech was a challenge, being Scottish and trying to sound as If I have the finest BBC English but it works well and is particularly haunting with the headphones on.

I scare myself..

Niall

Niall MatthewsonI think the main riff came from the “Niall’s box of unfinished bits”. GBM came up with the speech idea and Paul, as always, rose to the challenge.

This is going to be good live.

Colin

Colin FraserOr “Mid East” as it was formerly known due to its eastern melodic theme. A fairly straightforward track with a “live” feel. Virtually first take on the drums. Breaks down to half time feel in the middle and drum part develops with a staccato (ish) bass drum pattern.

Ronnie

Ronnie BrownI like its middle-eastern flavour and the use of the Arabic Scale. This should really bounce along live.

Lyrics

Hear me, see me, as I step on to your stage

I talk to every one of you so I subdue your rage

Your leaders have failed you

Your world sits on the edge

Here and now before you, I make this solemn pledge

Follow me (and the crowd went wild)

Come to me (man woman and child)

Trust in me (all the world go wild)

And you will see .......

I come here from a time and place

Where leaders proved their might

No question from their people of their wisdom and their sight

I offer you direction you have never seen before

Realise your destiny and open up your door

Follow me (and the crowd went wild)

Come to me......... ( man woman and child)

Trust in me........ ( all the world go wild)

And you will see ........

I promise you a golden age prosperity and power

Where peace prevails and nothing fails

Your finest hour

"I'm sorry, I don't want to be your Emperor. That is not my purpose. I don't want to rule or conquer you

We seeded this planet millennia ago in the hope that the you would flourish and produce a world of culture and enlightenment.

We want to help you, That is the Atlantean way

We want you to live by each other's happiness - not by each other's misery

We don't want you to hate and despise one another

In this world there is room for everyone and your good Earth is rich and can provide for everyone

Your way of life could be free and beautiful, but you have lost your way

Greed, has poisoned your souls, has infected your world with hate, has dragged you into misery and bloodshed

You have developed technology, but have lost sight of why

Technology that created abundance has left you in want

Your knowledge has made you cynical not wise, your cleverness is hard and unkind

You think too much and care too little

More than technology, you need humanity

More than cleverness, you need compassion

Without these qualities, your lives will end violently, and all will be lost "

Follow me (and the crowd went wild)

Come to me......... ( man woman and child)

Trust in me........ ( all the world go wild)

And you will see ........
